SNIS Call for projects on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals

The Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS) has launched a call for project proposals on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. Project grants are in the region of US$100,000 – 300,000 and are available to pluri-disciplinary projects that can include social and natural sciences. Global Land Project Seeking New Executive Officer

The Global Land Project (GLP) is seeking applications for the position of Executive Officer of its International Project Office (IPO), which will be hosted by the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) of the University of Bern, Switzerland (beginning in 2016). GLP is a core project of the Future Earth initiative (www.futureearth.org). It constitutes the largest research network in land system science, a field of research dealing with the causes, consequences, and integrated simulation of land systems. GLP organizes conferences, workshops, and publication activities to facilitate collaboration between community members. Collaborative efforts are aimed at synthesizing current knowledge of land systems and land system change, identifying emerging challenges and solutions for sustainable development, and interacting with development, policy, and civil society stakeholders to co‐design research.
