Call for Applications: Trier University 2017 Summer University

The Governance and Sustainability Lab at Trier University (Germany) is inviting applications for its 2017 Summer University, which will take place June 6-12, 2017.

Applications are invited from advanced doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers as well as from early career professionals working in geography, urban studies, urban planning, political science, international relations, development studies, gender studies, native studies, cultural studies, sociology, ecology and related fields. Participants will explore the theme of ‘decolonizing urbanism’ through a mixture of public lectures, seminar sessions, advanced skills trainings, excursions, and cultural activities. The Summer University will be held in English.

Three Positions Available at WaterPower Research Group

WaterPower

The Governance & Sustainability Lab at Universität Trier is looking for two Doctoral Candidates (TV-L 13, 50%) and one PostDoc (TV-L 13, 100%) for fill positions at the WaterPower Research Project, which is funded by the Ministry of Eduation and Research (BMBF). The positions will run through 31st March, 2018, with a possibility for extension (pending approval by the budgeting institution).

WaterPower is a laboratory for experimenting novel ways of doing research in urban water studies.
They contribute to current debates on society-nature relations by mapping, analyzing and understanding processes that unfold in the urban water sphere. Themes span around the following fields:

  • Coastal urbanisation and wetland degradation;
  • The production of water-related ecosystem services; and,
  • Politics of the energy-water-nexus / water metabolism.
