Sue Grimmond joined Department of Meteorology, University of Reading in August 2013. Previously she was a Professor at King’s College London, after being Assistant, Associate and Full Professor at Indiana University, Bloomington USA. She completed her undergraduate degree (BSc Hons) at the University of Otago, New Zealand, and graduate degrees (MSc and PhD) at The University of British Columbia. She is a past President of the International Association of Urban Climate (IAUC) and past Lead Expert for the WMO on Urban and Building Climatology. Sue is an Editor for Journal of Atmospheric anc Oceanic Technology, and on the editorial boards of Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology; and Urban Climate. She is a past member of the editorial boards of the Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Geography Compass (Climatology Editor) and Advances in Meteorology. In 2006 she was elected Fellow of the American Meteorological Society and awarded Doctor of Science Honoris Causa, from Göteborg University, Sweden. In 2008 she was awarded the Universitatis Lodziensis Amico Medal from University of Łódź, Poland. She was the 2009 recipient of the Helmut E Landsberg Award from the American Meteorological Society and the 2009 recipient of theLuke Howard Award from the International Association for Urban Climate. She is a Special Expert to Shanghai Institute of Meteorological Science, Shanghai Meteorological Service, China Meteorological Administration. She currently is an advisor to projects in Portugal (CLICUB), South Korea (WISE), USA (NEON), and WMO (GURME, Megacity Implementation Plan).
