Shu-Li Huang is a native of Taipei City. Upon receiving a Ph.D from University of Pennsylvania in 1983, he accepted a teaching position with the Graduate Institute of Urban Planning, National Taipei University (Formely College of Business and Laws of National Chung-Hsing University), Taiwan and has been with the Institute since then. His teaching and research focus includes ecological land use planning, ecological energetic analysis of urbanization, urban simulation, and urban sustainability assessment. Shu-Li Huang was the Chair of the Graduate Institute of Urban Planning, National Taipei University during 1990-1994. He also serves as the Vice-President of National Taipei University. Currently, he is also the committee members of the SSC of International Human Dimension Program on Global Change Research (IHDP)_ Urbanization and Global Environmental Change, the Executive Council of the International Society for the Advancement of Emergy Research (ISAER), and Taiwan’s National Committee on IHDP.
