Collaborative Research Grants for Early-Career Researchers in Africa

ICSU New LogoICSU, together with NASAC and the ISSC, will support 10 research projects across Africa. These projects are expected to generate new solutions-oriented knowledge that will help develop new urban paradigms in Africa and make African cities more resilient, adaptable and healthier. This is the first call in a five-year, 5 million Euro project that seeks to increase the production of high quality, integrated (inter- and transdisciplinary), solutions-oriented research on global sustainability by early career scientists in Africa.

Call for Submissions: Visualizing Cities at Habitat III

highline sideIn October 2016, 40,000+ people will meet in Quito, Ecuador for the largest cities summit in United Nations history – Habitat III. Three institutions (ICSU, The Future Earth Media Lab, FH-Potsdam) are launching an open call for visualizations to find new ways of exploring cities and sustainable futures. Submissions including data visualization, film, virtual/augmented reality, animation and infographics will be featured on our web platform and the best will be showcased during Habitat III.

The Future EarthGlobal Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA)IPCC scientific workshop will take place in Stockholm, Sweden from 29-31 August 2016. It will bring together 70 international researchers from across the scope of all three Working Groups of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The workshop is co-sponsored by IPCC.
