Geography & Environmental Studies – Lecturer (Human Geography)

The Department of Geography & Environmental Studies in the Faculty of Arts invites applications for a one-year term appointment at the level of Lecturer. Anticipated date of commencement is 1 July 2016 with an end date of 30 June 2017.
Review of applications will begin on 15 May 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.
We seek a broadly-trained Human Geographer, with preference given to candidates who specialize in Environmental and/or Urban Geography. The successful candidate will teach an Environment and Resource Management undergraduate course, as well as undergraduate courses in several of the following areas: Introductory Human Geography, Environmental Geography, Urban Geography and/or Urban Planning. There is also an opportunity for the successful candidate to teach another course in their specialty area. The normal teaching load for this position is six courses, and the candidate must be committed to teaching within the framework of the Department’s undergraduate (BA/BSc) programs. The candidate must possess a PhD, but those with a relevant combination of education and teaching experience may be considered.
